Sketchy sketch of Andrewby *Shutsumon

Having done my pic of Lydia from my web fiction serial "Dragon Wars" I'm working on a picture of Andrew. This is the pencil undersketch much darkened in paintshop pro.

I need feedback! Are the proportions okay? Is he holding the knives right? Do his hands look weird? (Wait, his hands definately look weird).

Most important of all, does he look like a guy?

Any other feedback gratefully received as well.

well it is a sketchy sketch but he does look like a man. So far so good. For the left knife (viewer left) I think looks okay but I think the oval of the handle bottom should be made skinnier, not so perfect of an oval. This can be hard without a good reference. Of course a good reference of this is also hard to find. If I find one though I'll let you know.
